In what the college football world has been anxiously awaiting for more than a century, ESPN's College Gameday will finally broadcast live the storied D-III Amherst-Williams game.
Dubbed “The Biggest Little Game in America” by the legacy of nerds who care about it and “Um, is this a D-III game?" by everyone else, this Norton Anthology dork rivalry dates back to 1884.
In order to make the Gameday crew feel welcomed, Williams College president is set to introduce them as Chris "The Faulkner of Football" Fowler, Kirk "The Edgar Allen of Analysis" Herbstreit, and Lee "Chompsky at the bit" Corso.
Corso, however, will not be seen with his arsenal of pencils after a bunch of co-eds protested them, since pencil factories contribute to the senseless "mauradering of trees and stuff," they said.
Once gathered behind the GameDay panel, the estimated crowd of 500 students are expected to be a calm group, only quietly staring at the trio while taking down occasional notes. School officials would have forecasted more students, but the game coincides with the final leg of a 24-hour Shakespeare reading in the quad.
